HOW TO TRANSFER PATCH BANKS TO/FROM THE ROLAND D-50

Assuming that your PC has a MIDI interface or a Sound Card
and a MIDI adapter cable:
 
1. Get hold of some D-50 patch bank files. These have the
   extension .d50 and are 36 kbyte in size.
2. Connect your D-50 to your PC via the MIDI IN and MIDI
   OUT cables.

To load a bank into the D-50:

3. On the D-50, turn off memory protect (explain)
4. On the D-50, press DATA TRANSFER, then hold it down and
   press LOAD BANK.
5. On the PC, run the d50put program by typing:
                D50PUT <name of bank>

To save a bank from the D-50 to the PC:
